Support to International Students:
The University has a population of around 5,600 students, including around 350 international and EU students from around the world. We are committed to helping our international students settle in to University life.
We have a strong network of welfare and support services and continually strive to provide a dynamic, supportive and stimulating environment. Winchester is a safe and compact city.
Support on campus: The University campuses, accommodation and city centre are all within walking distance and it is easy to find your way around. They aim to make sure that, right from the start you have access to any support you might need – academic, personal, medical, and financial – from people who are easy to contact and who can give you friendly and expert advice when you need it.
International support: International students can also access specialist services which include pre-arrival advice and an international induction programme. You can arrange to see one of the student support advisers at any time for help with academic and related personal issues. We help students from their initial enquiry onwards.
University of Winchester Society for International Students: UWSISIs run by students through the Student Union. The role of the UWSIS society is to help integrate international students into life at Winchester, providing a social group, day trips and other events. The International Students' representative is an elected member of the Student Union Council. His/her role is to further the interests of international students throughout the University.
